A missive from the trenches of haute couture
This column is not, I repeat, not an advice column. Anything I write here should never be taken as an instruction or even a guide, especially this week.
I’m looking for what to wear for spring, and I expect that I’m completely wrong. I look at the evidence in front of me, my own outfit as I sit here at the kitchen table on my laptop. I’m wearing pajama bottoms, a T-shirt with the band Nirvana on it, flip flops and an Aran cardigan. Behind her huge sunglasses, Anna Wintour could wince at such a spectacle. Or maybe she would be gripped by the shock and spontaneity of my morning gaze.
So, I’m looking ahead to the months ahead and – please don’t chase the Irish Examiner or me – I’m offering my take on the top three fashion choices to make this spring. Oh, and you can get all of these pieces at thrift stores; thus, they will be cheaper and less destructive to the environment.
