Evansville business goes viral in TikTok video
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – A TikTok video centered around an Evansville store has now become an internet treasure.
The treasure hunt, located on the west side of Evansville, is currently very popular, as dozens of people search for their own “treasure”.
The business could be a little busier because of a viral TikTok video, which now has millions of views.
14 News spoke to people who drove three and a half hours just to search for treasure.
This video even made people talk about Evansville.
“I was just scrolling my page on TikTok, you know, and it showed up front and I was like, ‘I’ve been there before,'” said buyer Benjamin Hickey.
The video follows Addison Hearrin, who buys unclaimed mail at the store, and what she ended up getting appears to be the subject of the thousands of comments on the video.
“I was like, ‘No way, she’s got a Louis Vuitton bag, that’s impossible,’ said Kaitlyn Ogg, who drove from Cincinnati, Ohio. “I just have to go and see, like it’s too much.”
Store managers say they are generally busy, but there has been an increase in the number of customers since the internet found treasure in Evansville.
The video now has over 7 million views on TikTok.
According to the United States Postal Service, sometimes unclaimed mail goes up for auction.
Their website shows that they sometimes auction unclaimed mail whenever a package breaks its rules for keeping unclaimed items.
