Looks like there are more Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1s on the way

The late Virgil Abloh was one of those creative visionaries who helped change the fashion landscape forever. Thanks to him, collaborations between streetwear brands and luxury fashion brands have never been more important than in today’s culture. With that in mind, it has to be said that no sneaker collaboration was as fiercely anticipated as Abloh’s Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1.
The designer saw the Nike Air Force 1 as an artistic object like no other, representing a culture that luxury fashion has ignored for too long. Paying homage to its hip-hop roots, Abloh’s Air Force 1 collection for Louis Vuitton was inspired by a little-known B-side drum break created by soul band “The Winstons” in 1969.
Dubbed the “sneaker collaboration to end all sneaker collaborations”, the shoes were first shown at Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2022 show in June last year. In total, Abloh designed 47 bespoke pairs for the collection, fusing classic sneaker codes with Louis Vuitton insignia and materials. However, although Abloh and Louis Vuitton unveiled this number of shoes, only nine copies were selected for release last month. Among them were patchwork multicolored renditions, the classic all-white sneaker embossed with the Louis Vuitton monogram, a riff on the same design in black suede, and a variety of two-tone editions in white with green, red, or blue.
Although they sold out in minutes, a number of new sneakers have just been listed for exclusive online release in the coming months. While little is known about when they will drop, you can expect them to fly, or else crash the LV site.
