Louis Vuitton and Virgil Abloh donate $ 380,000 to UNICEF Ghana
Ghanaian diaspora member Virgil Abloh and Louis Vuitton extended their relationship with UNICEF by donating $ 380,000 to the organization’s work in Ghana.
The donation is the latest step in their partnership, which previously focused on Silver Lockit bracelets that would have raised $ 14 million for UNICEF.
With this donation, Louis Vuitton and fashion designer Abloh will participate in Generation Unlimited, UNICEF’s program focused on youth and entrepreneurship in Ghana.
Abloh will also host a masterclass with 250 people covering entrepreneurship, creativity and becoming an agent of change in your community. The workshop will also be webcast live on Facebook.
Announcing the donation in a statement to WWD, Louis Vuitton said, “A member of the Ghanaian Diaspora, Virgil Abloh is dedicated to making a personal contribution to help accelerate results for children and youth in Ghana. A key ambition is to inspire African youth to develop creative projects, which link African art and culture to markets and create awareness of the black cannon.
