BMW announced the 2023 3 Series this month. The reveal closely follows that of the 7 Series for the new model year. But where the new 7 was a complete overhaul, the 2023 Series 3 is less complete than an update.
For the new model year, the 3 Series will sport an exterior that is restrained, even brevity at the rear. The nose is slim with narrowed, all-pro LED headlights, and at the grille, the refreshed entry-level doesn’t get bogged down in longitudinally slatted butterflies. Refined and capable, and prioritizing simplicity over high fashion, the revised 3-Series looks fully capable of withstanding the next few years without aging prematurely.
However, where the new 3 Series really shines is inside the cabin, where the new ‘multi-sensory’ iteration of iDrive and new curved display combined vital and infotainment functions more than 27-inch BMWs have proven very effective in the updated 7 Series. headlining. With the chosen M Sport kit, the interior gets sports steering with a leather-wrapped M-quality wheel.
The 2023 3-Series will be compelling with a 3.0L I6 – for the M340i – as well as a 2.0L four-cylinder with or without power assist for the 330i and 330e, respectively. Unique to the M340i is a new color called “Brooklyn Gray”, as well as different 18-inch wheels than the 330i and 330e; the top dog has 382 horsepower to draw on, while the 330i has 255 and the hybrid 288.
